About Thirty Years of Silence

Incest may well be the most destructive form of child abuse. I was victimized for thirty years which produced a child, my son. I suffered the near death of my soul by a man that my mother cherished and chose to marry. The emotional torture that I endured through most of my life was unimaginable.

After years in the healing process, I wrote my memoir and it is currently available in eBook format on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

My quest is to reach out ot others who may be in the similar pits of hell and feel there is no way out of their bondage. My intent is to give other survivors hope, validation, a voice, and the courage to regain control over their lives. My mission is to enlighten those who feel that incest only happens to a select few and could not affect them.

Herman 1987 and others have likened incest to concentration camp internment, where the victim is not only victimized, but reduced to absolute emotional and physical dependency on their captors. The parallel symptoms are understandable in that incest, like rape, is human-induced, premeditated, involves sexual violation, and ultimately a violation of the victims selfhood.

The pain, suffering, and challenges that we experience in our lives mold and shape who we become. We either snap and sink into oblivion or we can realize our resilience and strenth to survive...
